MEET THE ABRANTIE BEHIND THE "A" LOOK.........

A post specially for the men who read my blog every time. i personally fell in love with this collection because of the choice of fabric and the fact that the men are not being left out of new fashion trends that has evolved in Ghana. As usual i bring you a step closer  to the man behind the "A" look......

Tell me more about the man behind the "A"look?
The man behind the “A”LOOK is Oheneba Yaw Boamah, a creative person into design, fashion and film. A very down to earth person who loves God’s work and research a lot about fashion, film and Art in general.

Did you attend any fashion school to come out with such skill? Do you just design?

It started as a helping hand to my auntie who is a fashion designer. Mostly making and fastening covered button and stiffing fabrics. Later studied Industrial Arts and majored in Fashion and Textiles at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology. Had attachment at Akosombo Textiles Ltd.(ATL) whiles at the University. I did my national service and worked at Tex-styles Ghana Ltd.(GTP) and Ghana Textiles manufacturing Company(GTMC) as a textile designer with lots of today’s African prints designs to my credits and some customized prints likes; Ghana@50 ceremonial cloth, Political Parties Anniversary cloth, cooperate Institutions, Schools, Banks etc.

How long have you been designing?

Professional clothing design started right when I was about completing University when I held my first fashion show around 2006. I shift to fabrics designing when I found myself at GTP but was designing cloths for personally until the unearthing of the brand “Abrantie”.

Share with us your journey to uncovering the "A"look?

The “A” Look which is basically “The Abrantie Look” literally means “A Gentleman Look”. It came up on thoughts of seeing men in gentle and classic cloths with a touch of African appearance in Style.

Where did you get the inspiration from to unveil such a collection?

The inspiration came from the graceful nature our women rock African prints to the fullest and seems to be enjoying it all alone. We decide to put men in that colorful appearance but still looking gentle and classic with sense of African.

Do you think the Average Ghanaian man has accepted the A look yet?

The A look is not there yet to the Average Ghanaian. But the rate at which Ghanaians and Africans abroad are embracing it is remarkable. Our wish is to see all Ghanaians, celebrities especially and Africans as a whole to accept our rich African fashion just like how the westerners have pride and endorse their fashion brands as seen in movies, music video, etc.

Is this your first collection?

No. I had a collection tagged “OSEY GHANA”…a very colorful more casual trendy Ghana cheering gear collection that was for both sex.

A lot of people are embracing the use of the African Wax print? What do you think about this initiative and how unique is your collection from the others we see around?
It’s a good step in the right direction in promoting our fashion and designers to the international market and world as a whole. Abrantie being a textile and clothing design Company has exclusive prints use for our products. Also our products are high tailored measured bespoke with quality, style and taste of our clients request.

Any intention of hitting the runway soon?
There are few fashion show invitations in the pipeline and we are also working on our new collection line which will hit the runway soon.
