Woodin launched its most recent collection themed Perl' Or de woodin at the just ended fashionistagh shopping festival. Woodin’s latest collection is presented in 8 designs and exciting colors. Perl ‘Or de Woodin is a metallic print characterized by bold and graphic pearl motifs with light and gracious drawings.

Ghana Fashion & Design Week (GFDW) 2014 Event Postponed to the year 2015.

 

FYI all Fashionistas and fashion lovers: 

Ghana Fashion & Design Week regrets to announce that this year event scheduled for 24 – 26 October 2014 has been postponed to the year 2015, following the Ghana Government directive and ban on all international conferences and gathering in the country issued for the next 3 months to avoid recent health risks in the West Africa Region.

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this new turn beyond our control may have caused to all involved in this year’s event.

The anticipated event will return fully in its glory in 2015, bigger and better with new additions to the platform’s activities yet to be released.

We are excited of the progress of this industry in Ghana, and across the whole of Africa. And, are positive that any challenges that the country, and Africa are currently facing will make the continent even stronger and better as it continues to develop and grow through this millennium.

2015 will be a new year, and a very special year for GFDW event. As with every challenge comes growth, so will this phase lead to even better heights for the GFDW event, and all Africans affected in one way or the other during this period.

There is a another event happening this weekend! it only gets exciting! 

Day1(Fashion show)

 La villa boutique hotel will on Friday night host an invitation only boutique fashion show sponsored by Grey Goose Vodka.  This event will showcase ready to wear collections from upscale boutiques such as Eleanor’s closet, Out of Paris, Mr. Sam’s, Gorjiors and Tebazille with styling by Maame’s and Mackie. The show will begin at 6pm and would be attended by the crème dela crème in the city and oh, there would be more opportunities for networking.

Day2(Sales event)

There will be an all day free entry sales event at Filly B’s in East legon Right behind the Media Pharmacy dubbed RetroFab Boutique Sales.  High –end fashion pieces and accessories from the Swankiest boutiques will be  offered at discount prices. Fahsion Brands that will be present include Monarki, SO Aesthetic, Diva Delicious, Kayobi Clothing, Chic Accessories, Muran Leather & More, Aya Morrison, The Body Butter Company, Siatta Jeans, Blossom & Wednesday, Eleanor's Closet, Konfidence Clothing and Punk Fashion Studio will all be there . BEFFTA Awards is an award ceremony honoring the best show biz and entertainment personalities in th Uk, US, Africa amongst others.Founded by Pauline Long, it seeks to inspire Black and ethnic personalities worldwide to achieve at highest levels. The ceremony celebrates the accomplishments of hardworking community in within the entertainment and show biz industry and also showcase the talents of the unknown . Voting will start on 6th October .

NEWS:Dolce and Gabbana convicted in Milan.

Beau mond fashion luminaries Domenicio Dolce  and Stefano Gabbana were sentenced to prison in Italy on Wednesday for failing to pay 40.4million euros in taxis to the Italian government. Prosecutor Laura Pediosaid this time is a serious and complicated,sophisticated tax fraud crime". According to Pedio,investigators found that between 2004 and 2007 Dolce and Gabbana failed to tell italian authorities about an offshoot company they'd setup in Luxembourg,costing Italy millions of euros in taxes. 

      Dolce and Gabbana were both sentenced to one year eight months in prison and in addition,to what they owe, they have been told to pay a fine of 500,000 euros. Their lawyer Massimo Dinnois,plans to appeal all convictions and related fines and sentences.The two stylists debuted their brand in an October 1985 show in Milan,they have grown to become the worlds  number1 fashion brand.
